DIY Shrub Syrup Class: Cocktail and Mocktail Enhancers

Imagine sneaking probiotics, vitamin C, antioxidants, digestive health boosters, and various other nutritional benefits into your daily beverages! In this class, I will be teaching how to make Locally Good’s Blueberry Lavender Lemon and Toasted Cardamom Shrub Syrup, to create your very own Cocktails and Mocktails (non-alcoholic beverages). I will show you the various stages of production, and the best way to do it to get the most robust flavors. Most of the shrub syrup recipes you see online are fast, using heat from the stovetop. Here, we use the “slow food” technique of cold maceration, to break down the cell walls of the blueberries to release more robust flavors and nutrients than you could ever get from a quick method. Easy kitchen science! We will also discuss how to make Simple Syrup that is infused with beneficial herbs.
